In depth
Verdict
The Whistling Teal ran his best race for some time when chasing home Systematic in the Ormonde Stakes at Chester last week and is taken to go one better here at the main expense of Distinction and Delsarte. The last mentioned represents the stable of Godolphin whose older horses have yet to strike form but who has to be respected on the pick of his form. Distinction disappointed in the John Porter here last time but may do better over today's longer trip. Brian Meehan's Savannah Bay drops back in trip having failed to stay two miles in recent outings. He has to be respected along with Barry Hills lightly raced Yawmi but the vote goes to The Whistling Teal. Geoff Wragg's gelding has conditions to suit, comes here in form and should be tough to beat if in the same mood as at Chester.
