In depth

Verdict

The 2019 St Leger hero Logician lost his unbeaten record in soft going at York when last in action. Any further rain would be a worry for him on his reappearance but AL AASY is versatile as regards the going. The Haggas colt carries a penalty for winning the Group 3 John Porter over track and trip on his seasonal debut but scored by over four lengths on that occasion so looks the one to beat in this. Thunderous landed last year’s rescheduled Dante Stakes at York but needs to improve on his subsequent efforts to trouble the selection while Ranch Hand drops down in trip having won over 2m at the All-Weather Championships with Rainbow Dreamer back in fourth. Asiaaf is impossible to recommend on these terms.
