Safsoof, Dabbers Ridge and Romany Nights are the three for the shortlist in this handicap and the vote is given to Safsoof. The selection lost no caste in defeat when second behind Rain Stops Play at Epsom last time. He had previously looked as though he was in the grip of the handicapper but that run showed that he could be ready to take his turn. Dabbers Ridge will try and bolt out of the stalls and make-all, and if he gets an easy lead then he is not without a chance. He was a beaten favourite at Chester last time but still ran well and he is respected. Romany Nights would have claims on the pick of his form but he has never won over this trip and for that reason he is opposed. Big Bradford has been running well of late and he is another with a solid each-way chance, along with Outer Hebrides who is better than he showed last time. This is a competitive handicap and the tentative vote is given to Safsoof.
