Verdict
A wide-open looking contest in which all of the nine runners make their seasonal reappearance and it may be worth taking a chance with Phantom Wind, who is preferred to stablemate Nyramba and Majestic Desert. The selection needs to step up on her win in a Newmarket maiden but the daughter of Storm Cat beat the colts that day and could prove to be a decent filly. She is less exposed than some of her rivals and, at the likely odds, gets the nod. John Gosden also saddles the Ascot winner Nyramba but this looks tougher than that valuable sales race and, even under Frankie Dettori, she may struggle. John Dunlop also saddles two runners, with Spotlight preferred to Nataliya among his duo. Majestic Desert has done little wrong and Mick Channon has already won one fillies' trial, so the Tattersalls Breeders Stakes winner has to be respected, a long with Hugh Morrison's Ruby Rocket, who was only beaten two lengths in the Cheveley Park when last seen. However, Phantom Wind created a favourable impression when winning at Newmarket and just gets the nod.
