Verdict

The highly regarded Rebuttal can provide the key to a fascinating, if not outstanding, renewal of this Group 2 contest, with Andronikos and Galeota rated the main dangers. The last mentioned caused a minor shock when winning under positive tactics at Doncaster last Saturday, makes a quick reappearance, and is very much respected with his challenge. So too is One Putra, who had the benefit of experience on his side when defeating the selection at Windsor and he is no forlorn hope. However, he was a major disappointment last time and there will have to be a few reservations voiced about his challenge if any rain arrives. Mystical Land and Salsa Brava have been highly tried so far and deserve a change of fortune after finding a few too good. Nevertheless, they may now be vulnerable to a less exposed type and others make slightly more appeal. Andronikos made the most of a fair opportunity when winning a three-runner maiden on his debut at Hamilton. He was far from disgraced at York when he was next seen out and, as Galeota was easily brushed aside on that occasion, he has to be given a solid mention here. Nevertheless, Brian Meehan is becoming a trainer to note with his two-year-olds and he looks sure to be enhancing his reputation more and more as time goes on. There are some really fancy entries as options for Rebuttal should he be successful this afternoon and he can become the latest import from America that can do Meehan proud on the racecourse if all goes well today.
