        Verdict

        ILARAAB has come on in leaps and bounds and can complete the four-timer, despite a further 6lb rise. Tenbury Wells found only one too good chasing a hat-trick at Sandown and should be thereabouts again, despite another 3lb rise. Starcat didn’t get much of a run at Doncaster 10 days ago and is well worth another try over this trip but Good Birthday hasn’t shown much improvement for a slip down the ratings and continues to look a tricky ride. Maydanny won a valuable handicap at Goodwood before a shocking effort at York so it would be no surprise to see him bounce back on this quicker surface but this trip may stretch Ouzo and Royal Marine. The City's Phantom only won a maiden handicap at Yarmouth in July, though the runner-up has franked the form since.
