At first glance, this appears the weaker of the two divisions of this maiden. Populaire made late headway when fourth to Wejdan over track and trip last month and looks the best of those with experience. Tommy Rock was well backed when third at Bath but it would be no surprise if a newcomer proved good enough. King Ragnar looks a likely sort being out of a mare that has produced winners with her first two offspring to race but the Hannon stable has won this three times in the last six years so NUGGET is preferred. The Siyouni colt cost Highclere £90,000 and is also related to winners.
