Tamburlaine (IRE) sets the standard here and last year's Racing Post Trophy runner-up will need to win this far from vintage renewal to justify market support for the 2,000 Guineas. He probably has most to fear from Frenchmans Bay, third to this week's Free Handicap winner Clearing on his only run last year. He's held in high regard. Patsy's Double wasn't beaten far in last season's Champagne Stakes but will need to improve on that; Munir won well here over 6f on testing ground last season.
