In depth

Verdict

Snoqualmie Boy has shown promise on both starts as a juvenile and has to be respected on his reappearance but the yard's runners have looked in need of their first start this term so he may be best watched and a chance is taken on the newcomer Hala Bek, who is preferred to another debutant Alqaab. The last mentioned is a half-brother to a winning miler by Silver Hawk and could be of interest but Marcus Tregoning's stable has yet to really get going yet so he may be best watched. Dragon Dancer is entitled to come on for his recent return at Kempton and has to be respected along with Mick Channon's Leicester third Som Tala. Henry Cecil's Selkirk colt Border News comes from a very good family and could be of interest first time out, while Mount Kilimanjaro, who is by Sadler's Wells cannot be discounted on his first public outing. The Michael Jarvis-trained Hala Bek is bred to be useful, being by Halling and a half-brother to three winners, and he gets the nod in an intriguing maiden.
