OCEAN TRANSIT is the tentative suggestion in a warm race where most of the runners merit consideration but Compton Blue and Play It Sam complete the short-list. Truly Asia may have more to offer this term but lacks a run unlike Directorship who made an entirely satisfactory reappearance at Sandown when behind Halsion Chancer and may improve. The trip is an issue for Kingswinford whilst recent efforts suggest that the handicapper may just have Edgeworth's measure at present but Compton Blue is only 4lbs higher than when scoring at Bath and appears to be on an upward curve. There may also be more to come from Play It Sam and he could prove capable of defying a 5lb hike in the weights for his victory at Ascot but he rather got the run of the race that day and we prefer to take a chance with Ocean Transit. She's been dropped 1lb to 74 after finishing well held at Warwick last time over seven but she was only beaten half a length over course and distance last July from 80 so is certainly well enough handicapped and she usually finds her form at this time of year.
