      Verdict

LAHAAG isn't the most straightforward and arguably would have won at York a fortnight ago if not for hanging left in the final furlong and getting beaten a head. Paul Hanagan will be ready for any such antics today and John Gosden's colt can make amends. He makes more appeal than stablemate Sunpass but the inconsistent Sir John Hawkwood is good enough to take this if in the mood. Little Rocky is more exposed and has an 8lb rise to contend with after scoring at Bath last time well ahead of Cool Macavity while Las Verglas Star is not the most reliable but capable on his day. Tigers Tale should be thereabouts again without looking good enough to win.
