In depth

Verdict

Osana is selected ahead of Buster Hyvonen and Russian Consort, while Chancellor was far from disgraced on his hurdling debut at Leicester in November and, as he still retains ability, he could easily make the frame if he puts his mind to it. Resolution in a finish is something that blighted his career on the level, so he is not one to trust implicitly. Russian Consort also caught the eye during his first start over timber and is expected to be a lot wiser for the outing. With his yard on the crest of a wave, he is worth monitoring in the betting. Buster Hyvonen is sure to be a popular choice in the betting after making a winning start at Huntingdon. Tony McCoy's assistance in the saddle brings it's obvious pluses and a bold bid is expected from this son of Dansili. However, Osana looked a typical product of the Pipe dynasty's purchasing skills when he bolted up at Plumpton last month and he is expected to be very hard to master if he is in the same frame of mind.
