In depth

Verdict

Zonic Boom gets the nod in the finale, with Icannshift, Doctored and Bojangles fancied to pose the most problems. Bojangles is in good heart and will be suited by the likely strong pace. His connections will be praying for rain, though and his chance will increase significantly if the heavens open. Doctored ran well over course and distance nine days ago and has each-way claims if he is in the same frame of mind tonight. Jamie Spencer catches the eye and he looks sure to go well. Eastborough is another that has the form in the book to win a race like this. However, he now looks weighted up to his best and needs a little luck on his side here. Icannshift is a consistent type that has shaped as if he is on the way back to something like his best. He could be good value for a place in this company. However, marginal preference is given to Zonic Boom, who is open to a bit more improvement than most and his trainer's selective placing policy with him can again be seen to good effect here.
