Verdict

Irving comes back for another crack having won this in 2014 and again last year when he beat Apple's Jade a nose with Mirsaale a distance behind. The runner-up has subsequently won three Grade 1 races so the form is obviously strong but BUVEUR D'AIR has only been beaten once in nine starts over hurdles and fences and that was when third behind stable companion Altior and Min in last year's Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham. The current champion hurdler followed up in the Grade 1 Aintree Hurdle and, though unraced since April, should have too much class for these. The four-year-old Flying Tiger had his big day in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham and though running well in grade company later has a mountain to climb against the main contenders. Katgary's last win was in a Class 3 handicap chase at Perth on fast going.
