        Verdict

        SVINDAL can come home in front at the main expense of fellow recent winner Tiger Reigns. Kevin Ryan's gelding has been given a break since winning three months ago at Wolverhampton. That was off a mark of 65 and he has a 5lb loftier perch to race from this afternoon, but if he builds on that first win of his career then he must have a solid chance. If he flops back on turf then it may pay to side with Tiger Reigns who impressed when winning at Catterick a month ago. That was on quick ground but his previous third at this track was on heavy going so the ground may not be a big problem and a mark of 68 for this handicap debut may be lenient. Haulage Lady and Island Chief return from a break, whilst Speed Dating steps up in trip for his handicap debut and on breeding he should handle the ground. Any market move for Hawkeythenoo would be interesting, but for the winner we are happy to side with Svindal.
