HARWOODS VOLANTE (NAP) was having just his second start for David O'Meara when narrowly beaten by Beautiful Stranger at Pontefract. He could have done without a 2lb rise but won off a 12lb higher mark last year so can go one better. Shamaheart has been running really well over this trip without quite getting there though he's another who has gone up in the ratings without winning. Big Bear was making his handicap debut on just his fourth start when scooting away with a Wolverhampton handicap on Tuesday. He comes here with a 6lb penalty but defied a poor draw for that victory and should get into the frame. Advance scored over the course and distance on ground with some give and was then impeded a few days later at Carlisle and had to be pulled up. Kyrenia Castle won a seller at Redcar but is quite lightly raced and could be capable of better. Marsoomah showed her first sign of ability at Wolverhampton in January and returns after a break on a very lowly mark so she's one to keep an eye on.
