          Verdict

          A few of these took part in a similar contest over track and trip three weeks ago. Chevalgris finished closest to the winner in third with Arcamante and Wor Lass in close attention. Dan Emmett won an amateurs' race in soft ground at Thirsk in August but has been raised 10lb for his trouble while Calculated Risk went close over a longer trip at Pontefract early in the year and can figure with a repeat. LADY BINGO came up short when sent off favourite at Wolverhampton recently but she gets another chance as she's likely to improve for the longer trip.
