Lilac Mist did well to get to within half-a-length of an 86-rated rival on her debut at Nottingham and has to be respected but preference is for Traprain, with Forest Of Love rated the best of the remainder. The selection ran a race full of promise when a close third behind Indigo Cat at Lingfield on his debut and, while probably flattered by his proximity to the winner there, that is probably the best form on offer and the Michael Jarvis-trained colt looks to be the one they all have to beat. Luca Cumani's Edas showed promise first time out but would probably want a softer surface, while Best Prospect was well held in third at Pontefract first time out and is likely to fall short of the standard required again. A market move for Sonny Parkin would be of interest although more solid claims are held by the Barry Hills-trained Forest of Love, who has shown a decent level of form in both starts so far but Traprain holds solid claims on debut form and gets the vote.
