In depth

Verdict

Nicky Richards has his team in good form so Windy Hills has to be respected on his first start since November off what looks a fair mark but he is hard to back on recent form and preference is for OCARINA, who can gain a deserved first success of the season with the main danger rated as Seeking Power. The last mentioned put up an improved effort when landing a handicap chase at Kelso last month and the lightly raced gelding has solid claims but a 6lb rise for that success may anchor him and he may have to settle for a place at best. Teenando makes limited appeal on recent form but he has been given a chance by the handicapper and Sue Smith has her team in good heart right now so he cannot be discounted. Sycho Fred has failed to finish in two races since winning at Catterick in December and is hard to recommend in a race taken to go to Ocarina. James Ewart's gelding has been the model of consistency this term in finishing third in each of his last four starts and he looks worth one more chance in what does not look the strongest of races.
