      In depth

      Verdict

Sharp Riposte showed only a modicum of improvement when third in soft going at Haydock but is related to a winner on Tapeta. Open Mind finished a lot closer when upped to 7f at Sandown last month and an apprentice’s allowance helps his cause but a chance is taken on BOONDOGGLE. The winner had already flown at Ripon when Mark Johnston’s colt finally found top gear but he finished strongly and will know more today. Texas Man, Tricky Business and Theoretical are all related to winning sprinters and make most appeal of the newcomers.
