    Verdict

A modest maiden can go to Bee Stinger, who set a decent standard and is preferred over Dancer's Serenade and Jeune Loup, who are obviously unexposed and should have a similar race within them somewhere along the line. Skidrow did not really know what was expected of him last time and, like a few of the rest, he is probably best watched until he shows us a little more. Ian Wood is an infrequent visitor to Newcastle and his record of winners at the course does leave a little to be desired. However, he looks to have found a good opportunity for Bee Stinger to get off the mark and, with his only previous try at this trip reading well in the context of this race, it will be a little surprising if Bee Stinger is still without a win to his name at the end of the race.
