      Verdict

Withhold had just the two outings last year but won the Cesarewitch at Newmarket on the second of those occasions. But he still faces a stiff task today raised 12lb for his seasonal debut. Higher Power won last year’s renewal off a similar mark when just getting the better of NATURAL SCENERY (NAP) with stablemate Lord George back in fourth and Sir Chauvelin and Clever Cookie further behind. The runner-up was also returning from a lay-off last year and the Godolphin mare takes on Higher Power on more favourable terms today. Nakeeta had the selection back in third when landing last season’s Ebor at York and can figure while Irish raider Lagostovegas carries 5lb extra for winning the Ascot Stakes last time. Amazing Red is also penalised after winning over 1m6f at Newmarket with a below par Byron Flyer well beaten while Curbyourenthusiasm is a rare winner nowadays but is still capable at this level.
