In depth
Verdict
Rob Roy gets the vote in the opener, with fellow newcomers Miss Particular and Bravemore two more to merit a mention. With plenty of unexposed talent on view, Rob Roy can only be given a tentative vote, but he is reportedly one to follow judged on recent homework, and is entered for next year's Vodafone Derby. Miss Particular is one of three Barry Hills entries, with son Michael opting to partner the daughter of Sadler's Wells who is bred to get middle distances next year. The stable won this last year with Secret Charm so will be keen to do well again. Bravemore is another worthy of note, with Brian Meehan doing well with his two-year-olds. The son of Diesis holds no fancy engagements yet could be sharp enough here. Compared to some of his stablemates, Expeditious is a cheap purchase and has not been talked up. The son of American sire Forestry has worked well enough at home to be considered sharp enough, but Frankie Dettori prefers Sugitani who has had the benefit of an outing. In truth this is going to be a guessing game and only a small stake is recommended on Rob Roy, with the video recorder set up to make a note of what happens for future reference.
