In depth
Verdict
Golden Sahara is the pick, with Jonny Ebeneezer, Jedburgh and Fremen others to consider in the finale. Golden Sahara is yet another fancied Godolphin runner on the card and quite rightly so judged on his latest efforts. After acting as a pacemaker in the 2,000 Guineas, he has since blossomed with a win at Goodwood and a decent third at the same track a fortnight ago. That was his first run since his July success and he will be fitter now. Jonny Ebeneezer bounced back from his dismal run in the Ayr Gold Cup to score at Haydock and has a six-pound penalty to contend with. In addition, he is normally better over a furlong shorter than today's journey. Jedburgh has bits and pieces of placed form to his name but looks a shade high in the handicap, while Fremen has not been seen since finishing eighth in the Lincoln. He will improve for today's outing and could win a decent handicap over the next few weeks. Digital owes us a packet and has had too many chances, and we shall stick with Golden Sahara who can take Frankie a step nearer to the jockey's title.
