A typically hard renewal of this famous race can go to Star Of Light, who likely to be pressed all the way by old rivals Ashkal Way and Blue Monday. However, a whole host of the others come here with solid claims and the likes of: Realism, Pedrillo and Kew Green are all likely to attract their share of interest from the betting ring. Momtic will also be a threat despite facing a stiff test at the weights . The Willie Jarvis-trained top weight has been a revelation this term; winning three of his seven starts since March. However, he is now 21lb higher in the ratings and will really need to pull something out of the fire in such a competitive race. Kew Green will appreciate any give underfoot and, as a previous course and distance winner, he should obviously handle the conditions. For whatever reason, he failed to give his running at Epsom when he was last seen out and that run has to be forgiven. However, of more concern is his absence since June and he may find others may be a little sharper. Last year's winner Spanish Don is another with feasible claims off just a 4lb higher mark. He has been kept on the boil with this race in mind for while and he should make another bold bid. Pedrillo, having never settled when he was a disappointing favourite last term, has proved to be a lot wiser now that he has got his act together and he is another to bear in mind. Any money for Sir Mark Prescott's charge before the off could be significant. The son of Singspiel showed what he is capable of when he had a number of today's rivals in behind when he won at York in August. He will be a big danger if he is in the same frame of mind this afternoon. Realism is another that likes these big field cavalry charges and can scrap his way into a place if everything goes right for him, while Blue Monday does not have much to find to make the frame if he handles the ground. Kieren Fallon has been booked for leading fancy Ashkal Way and that may be the key for many to side with the lightly raced three-year-old. Fallon's mount can be rated several pounds higher that his last run, as he gave ground at the start and was then hampered at a crucial stage. He has the right man on board to keep him out of trouble today and he is strongly fancied to be in the shake up. Nevertheless, there is a bit of value to be had with Star Of Light, who has been a credit to his connections this season. The son of Mtoto is a versatile performer that can be relied upon to give his all in a finish. And, as we have already seen this week, it can be costly to underestimate one Brian Meehan's string when the team are firing on all cylinders.
