In depth

Verdict

Tomfre has won four of his six starts but his only failure came when tried in Listed company at Doncaster in September. Tom Collins is improving but only won a novices race over course and distance 10 days ago. Hong Kong is gradually getting the hang of things but Donnacha rides San Pedro, who was always travelling best on his first try over this trip at Leopardstown last week. Aberama Gold is a doubtful stayer while Ropey Guest seems destined to remain a maiden, though will probably run his race again. William Haggas resisted the temptation to run SURF DANCER again after he landed the odds at Leicester and Chelmsford in August and that patience can be rewarded here. Kenzai Warrior held off the subsequent Zetland Stakes winner Max Vega on debut at Salisbury and is held in high regard so may be best of the rest.
