Verdict

Air Pilot won this back in 2014 and has been second in each of the last two runnings. The 10-year-old is a real credit to connections and won in this grade at Goodwood in September, though that’s earned him a penalty and the ground may not be soft enough for him today. Indeed finished two lengths ahead of Aquarium in a Group 3 here three weeks ago but that pair have a bit to find at the weights. LORD NORTH ran in this grade in the spring but didn’t do himself justice. Gelded subsequently, he landed a gamble in the Cambridgeshire here two runs ago in between cracking efforts in handicaps at Ascot. He looks the one to beat, though Pablo Escobarr has had wind surgery since running the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.
