Verdict

Charlie Appleby won this last year and has a couple of representatives this time. City Of Kings cost 350,000gns as the first foal of a Group 2 winner but James Doyle’s presence on stablemate LOCAL DYNASTY, a brother to a winner in France, suggests the latter is the yard’s first choice. The 225,000gns purchase Opera Ghost is also a brother to a winner and a half-brother to two others while Maasai Mara and Al Alaali are others to note.
