Verdict

It was soft going when Giavellotto finished runner-up at Haydock last month but fast ground prevailed when LAW OF THE SEA ran well in last year’s Queen’s Vase at Ascot. The latter hasn’t raced since March but an entry in the Ebor suggests there’s plenty more to come from him this season so the Gosdens’ charge gets the vote. Praiano is fitted with blinkers having failed to threaten at Chester while Achnamara came up short dropped in class at Doncaster last time.
