Verdict

Six last-time winners clash, of which Windsor Castle Stakes winner Ardad and progressive Ballydoyle raider Intelligence Cross make most appeal. The Gosden charge was most impressive in putting his Royal Ascot rivals to the sword and the additional furlong should suit the son of Kodiac. He should make a good fist of preserving his unbeaten status but MEHMAS may have his measure. Richard Hannon's colt arguably came up against the best juvenile around in the Coventry Stakes in Caravaggio but there was plenty of daylight back to the third and the rest of a talented field that day. He was stylish when thrashing Global Applause at Newbury and can regain the winning thread. Silver Line was a good third over the minimum trip in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot when seemingly screaming out for the longer trip, which he now has - he's a danger to all.
