Verdict

THIMAAR could take the guesswork out of this contest. He's shown plenty of ability in two starts so far and had the remainder well beaten when third at Newbury last time to the useful Cai Sheen. The runner-up has subsequently won and John Gosden's charge can open his account here. Strategic Bid looks the best of the others with experience, but one of the newcomers is likely to prove a bigger threat. They include the 100,000gns yearling Royal Peculiar, Risk Assessed and the Freemason Lodge debutant Eagles Peak.
