Verdict
CREATIVE FORCE would probably have beaten stable companion Naval Crown in the Platinum Jubilee Stakes at Ascot had he not strayed off a straight line in the closing stages. Several of today’s rivals were behind that day, including third Artorius, and William Buick’s mount can gain compensation in this latest leg of the British Champions Series. Perfect Power is a big danger as he showed an excellent turn of foot back over 6f in the Commonwealth Cup when getting the better of Flaming Rib. Richard Fahey’s three-year-old has won six of his nine career starts and there were excuses for all three defeats. Romantic Proposal won the Group 1 Flying Five at the Curragh last year and stays this extra furlong so looks the pick of the Irish runners but Japanese raider King Hermes hasn’t raced over this trip since his debut more than a year ago.
