In depth
Verdict
A fillies' handicap lacking strength in depth and this looks another good opportunity for Sharp Secret while Summer Shades, Tuscarora and Cloud Dancer are the others to consider. Jamie Toller's mare has proved a model of consistency this term and, following a string of placed efforts, the five-year-old gained an overdue success over this trip at Yarmouth late last month. The daughter of College Chapel impressed by travelling smoothly throughout and showed a willingness for a battle when pulling out extra to score with a little more in hand the the official winning margin would suggest. A subsequent 2lb rise doesn't seem harsh and she is taken to follow up under her regular apprentice rider. Summer Shades has been well placed to land handicaps at both Pontefract and Windsor this term but is now 5lb higher in the weights and looks in the handicapper's grip judged on recent evidence. Tuscarora confirmed the promise of two placed efforts at Bath in May when landing a Brighton seller but ran as though something was amiss last time and is best watched on this occasion. Cloud Dancer was understandably outclassed in a valuable event last time but this is her level and she has place claims on a previous course and distance victory in June.
