In depth

Verdict

This is the toughest race on the card to assess, and we will give a narrow vote to Prince Of Thebes, with Eisteddfod and Look Here's Carol put forward as likely dangers. The selection is trained by Andrew Balding who is not averse to plundering competitive handicaps. This son of Desert Prince is very lightly raced and was successful first time out last season, beating Welcome Stranger in game fashion. He only had one more outing, finishing third in a competitive classified event. He still looks on a decent mark here and as he obviously goes well fresh, he looks the best option today. Eisteddfod came up against two improving types last time Iffraaj and High Reach. The runner up landed a decent prize last week so the form is rock solid and he will be difficult to keep out of the frame. Look Here's Carol ran a blinder to finish third in the Cammidge Trophy at Doncaster. That was over six furlongs, but she has top form over this trip as well and should be thereabouts. European progressed nicely last season and is another one to bear in mind, but the pick of the weights today is Prince Of Thebes and he gets the decision.
