      In depth

      Formwatch

Emms (USA) Not a bad reappearance in the Britannia stakes; handles the ground but looks vulnerable at the weights.

Putra Pekan Looks to be suited by the mile but improvement necessary to win this.

Marika Yet to race on anything like this surface; best watched.

Lanesborough (USA) Well beaten on his first start this term but this easier ground should suit.

Haasil (IRE) Any further rain will be much appreciated by this horse; has the right credentials to figure here.

Spanish Spur Will doubtless be popular in the market but his form doesn't look good enough to win this.

Whale Beach (USA) Has the ability but has had a tendency to pull hard; performed creditably as a two year old over this distance so is respected here.

Smirk Easy winner over 7f on soft; has a big chance if handling the step up today.

Banjo Bay (IRE) Looks a progressive type; raced too keenly on his last attempt at the distance but handicapper has been none too generous.

Satyr Still a maiden; form of previous runs hasn't worked out; others preferred today.

Pasithea (IRE) Decent efforts over 7f and has looked as if crying out for a mile; should handle the ground and not insignificant that K. Darley has been booked

Xipe Totec In and out performer; hard to fancy here
