In depth
Formwatch
Gorse Done most of his winning in Germany, France, Ireland; wouldn't be inconvenienced by this surface but still got something to find to land this contest.
Harmonic Way Good winner of the Cork and Orrery last time; definitely improving but has it to prove on today's surface.
Lincoln Dancer (IRE) Looks a value each-way punt; forget about his last run (he was returning from injury) should handle the ground.
Misraah (IRE) Couldn't be faulted over 5f last week; will need to improve in order to win over 6f
Mount Abu (IRE) Narrowly got home in a Haydock listed race; better over 7f and passed over today.
Primo Valentino (IRE) Desperately disappointing last time out; finished fourth in this race last year but shoulders more weight in this renewal; others preferred today.
Shibboleth (USA) Very much the talking horse of the race; has the ability but will he cut it against quality sprinters.
Superior Premium Should run his usual game race but not probably not good enough to figure here.
Three Points Beaten fair and square by Harmonic Way in the Cork and Orrery; will handle the ground but Godolphin have had all seven previous contenders beat in this contest.
Tillerman Worrying that he's been drifting out in the market this week; probably better on faster ground.
Vision of Night Has won over 6f but difficult to fancy in this grade.
Cassandra Go (IRE) A revelation since coming into foal; something to find on her previous 6f form and this ground is not as fast as she's been racing on recently.
Pipalong (IRE) Looks a ridiculously big price here; solid Group 1 form and ground should definitely suit her.
Freud (USA) Full brother to Giants Causeway; ran his best race for some time in the Cork and Orrery Stakes; should handle the ground but will his temperament hold out
Ishiguru (USA) Very unkind to suggest him as second-string; has won over 6f over similar conditions; priced at 40/1 in some quarters this week but he should be shorter than that.
Mozart (IRE) Has been the market fancy over the last few days; yet to race over such a short distance but his form is rock solid.
Volata (IRE) Definite ability but for every drop of more rain that falls; the less likely he looks a viable betting medium
Enthused (USA) Back to sprint distances today; had some decent enough form over the trip but suspicion that she lacks the raw speed to win this
Iron Mask (USA) Finished 1l behind Rolly Polly last year on soft; very much a dark horse here.
Modigliani (USA) Has won on a softer surface; will probably front run here.
