      Previous results

      In depth

      Formwatch

Cretan Gift Admirable old performer but 7f isn't his trip and he isn't getting any younger.

Duke of Modena Had the beating of Nice One Clare in similar conditions at Ascot last term; doesn't look the best handicapped horse in the world at present

Volontiers (FR) Has been winning this term but now looks a little high in the handicap.

Border Subject Still looks potentially unexposed and stable is sending out winners at the moment; live chance.

Highland Reel Has disappointed somewhat since his second in the Lincoln but conditions look a little more accommodating here.

Camberley (IRE) A little disappointing this year but still looks open to improvement and cannot be written off.

Peacock Alley (IRE) Third to Riberac at Ascot last term; needs everything to go right for him; coming down the weights but is still 7lb higher than highest winning mark

Bold King This easier surface should suit but he is badly out of form at present.

Salty Jack (IRE) Has been making hay off lower marks; seems to handle any ground.

Labrett Stayed on well over 6f at York last time; hasn't really set the world alight over 7f in the past.

Needwood Blade Arguably found a mile too far from him latest; progressive before that and should handle the ground.

Judicious (IRE) Impressive winner at Thirsk earlier in the season but flopped latest at Newbury; should have no problems with the ground.

I Cried For You (IRE) Any further rain would be appreciated by this fellow; looks laid out for the race and the money looks to be talking in the ante post markets

Hand Chime Would need to improve to win this; looks second string of Willie Haggas' pair.

      Entail (USA) Seems to have improved for being in foal;

Atavus Has been prominent in the ante-post lists; should handle the going and looks progressive enough to win this.

Pays d'Amour (IRE) First time at a mile today; this heat looks a bit too tough for him.

Intricate Web (IRE) Not far behind Surprise Encounter a few runs ago; all to do here.

Yarob (IRE) Has been doing the business in claimers; this is a different kettle of fish.
