Bob Cowell won this last year and runs four with Faustus preferred. The latter won at Newcastle last month but faces a more difficult task in this grade as does Look Out Louis, who also won at Newcastle in January with 2019 winner Ornate well behind. NIGHT ON EARTH (NAP) has won four times on the all-weather since switching to Mick Appleby’s yard and, having landed a competitive Class 2 sprint at Lingfield under today’s apprentice earlier in the month, he looks worth sticking with. Twilight Calls won on the July course here last summer though hasn’t raced since August having been subsequently gelded.
