Verdict

TORCH makes his handicap debut after a couple of placed efforts over a mile in maiden company. He’s related to a winner over further and is preferred to Baydar. The latter represents last year’s winning yard but faded badly in the closing stages of his reappearance at Ascot and stablemate Nessita suffered the same fate on her comeback run at Doncaster. Like so many from his yard, Status Quo will appreciate the step up to middle-distances and Albert Boy is better than his latest poor effort at Ripon suggests.
