Verdict
Masterful has been a model of consistency throughout his career and is the TEAMtalk selection to land the finale. Godolphin's colt progressed well last term to score a Group 2 over ten furlongs at Deauville last term and has shown that he retains all his ability on both starts during the current campaign. The son of Danzig did particularly well when a staying-on second over an inadequate trip here earlier in the month with Tikkun held in fifth. The ease in the ground and the extra furlong should make him hard to beat. Beauchamp Pilot was a comfortable winner of the Cambridgeshire off a mark of 99 but more is required at this level while Lgudin has clearly had his problems and returns from a lengthy absence. Inglenook and Smirk are both capable of going close if near to their best while Father Thames possibly needs softer conditions to show his best.
