Verdict
This is not the strongest of Newmarket maidens and it may fall to Encouragement, with Kanad and Pamir the likely dangers. Richard Hannon's filly is not the most consistent of runners but has done well against decent opposition in two of her four races this season. The most recent effort was at Sandown when fourth to Unreal. If she puts her best foot forward today she could be the one to beat. Kanad has had plenty of chances, but does appear to be still improving so will be hard to keep out of the frame here. There are some fascinating newcomers in the line-up including the Barry Hills pair Kenmore and Born For Diamonds, but Pamir could be the one to watch out for. He is a well bred son of Namid from the Luca Cumani yard who could sneak into a place at decent odds. So Encouragement is not the most reliable of animals but on her day should be good enough to land this prize.
