Verdict
This should not concern too many at the business end and we will take Telefonica to break her duck, with Cayman Calypso and Long Road others who can go well. The selection was a beaten favourite when last seen out at Newcastle in October, but should be better for this step up to a mile. Faster ground will also be in her favour and she can make the most of the 5lb allowance and take the money. Cayman Calypso makes his debut here and is respected, coming from the yard of Michael Jarvis who has the best strike rate with first-time runners of any trainer in the top echelon this season. Even so, he will do well to win here over a trip that looks plenty long enough on breeding and so we look elsewhere. Of the others, Long Road makes most appeal. The Diesis colt was beaten just a head over this trip at Newbury the other day and makes a quick reappearance, which might indicate that the yard have better plans for him. We expect him to out up another bold showing but that 5lb concession to the selection may just be too much again and so we shall stick with Telefonica.
