In depth
Verdict
The shortlist contains Gone 'N' Dunnett, Brigadore, Salviati, The Jobber and Harrison's Flyer, with the vote going to Salviati. This is tight and we opt for Salviati, who is now a pound below the mark from which he won at Newbury last summer, so you never know after his staying on effort last time. Gone 'N' Dunnett is back to a winning mark and holds claims, while Brigadore will appreciate the drop in trip after his good Ayr effort from today's mark. Harrison's Flyer won from today's mark in May, Ok Pal is another that is back to a winning mark from last year, as is Matty Tun, although the latter might prefer juice in the going, and Wanchai Lad has only won one handicap from 16 attempts. Finally, The Jobber has been holding his form since springing a surprise at Sandown, and a pound rise for his latest effort should not stop him from running well. Overall, though, the vote goes to Salviati.
