    Verdict

HEADING NORTH was below par at Newbury last time when finishing nearer last than first in a Listed race, although she wasn't beaten that far. Previous efforts though had been full of promise, notably her second to the useful Elik in a Goodwood Listed contest on her penultimate start - she looks well treated here. Princess Caetani looks to have rather too much on her plate giving upwards of 7lb all round so Mama Quila, patiently campaigned by William Haggas, looks a likelier danger with further progress anticipated. Luca Cumani does well in races like this and Abilene also makes the short-list.
