Verdict

Summerghand carried a big weight to victory in the Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood when Watan was unplaced. He was sixth in a Group 3 earlier so should be competitive at this level, even if thoroughly exposed. Jash is already a Listed winner and was second in the Middle Park here as a juvenile. He can only improve on his run at Newcastle though there are possibilities about Burmese Waltz, who was badly impeded last time at Pontefract, and the returning Raucous. VENTURA REBEL ran a cracker when third in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and is easily forgiven a subsequent run over 7f at York as he missed the break. Richard Fahey’s charge is probably the form pick overall.
