Verdict

OLIVINO is a speculative selection versus likely market leaders, Frosted Grape and Spate River. John Llewellyn's charge has reserved his best for this surface and whilst they were stung for a 3lb rise post their last race, it seems highly significant that they elected to go for a run on the flat next time around rather than stay over hurdles. Isabel Tompsett gets on well with this horse and can take a valuable 7lb off. Frosted Grape bolted up in a maiden and whilst this is much tougher, one had to be impressed with the level of ability she showed. Jonjo O'Neill has three runners in and McCoy is aboard Spate River. A fair handicapper on the flat; he was entitled to win off a mark of 87 at this discipline at Uttoxeter though he has now surged to a mark of 104 as a consequence. Sea Cliff drops back in trip having shown little of note over further. Vintage Fabric is the only course-and-distance winner in the field.Often ridden by a conditional rider, the switch to professional handling today is an interesting gambit. Rock Me has been the subject of market support on his last two starts though has not troubled the judge. If the rain stays away, Olivino should have optimum conditions and he is therefore afforded as our recommendation.
