In depth
Verdict
In a typically tricky bumper, Alf Lauren is a tentative selection to master a host of interesting newcomers, the best of whom may be Trade Off. Alf Lauren duly made a winning start at Bangor in March, despite the track apparently being too sharp for him. His trainer reports that he has bags of speed, and so he might not stay too much beyond two miles. So, he might not be a good thing, but has the form in the bag. There are a whole host of possible dangers, including newcomers, Pitminster, Raven's Last, Regal Bandit, and Trade Off, with the latter, owned by David Johnson, the pick. Vingis Park will have learnt from his introduction here in April and is another to keep an eye on, but Alf Lauren is the pick in the finale.
