In depth

Verdict

A desperately trappy race in which Sou'Wester is given a chance to redeem himself at the principal expense of Nemetan and Another Native. Sou'Wester was a bitter disappointment last time out as he stopped to nil after pulling too hard for his own good. His fencing had been much better on the day and the drop in trip this afternoon should suit. Nemetan was a fair winner at Exeter. He is consistent enough although the handicapper has had plenty of chance to get his sums right. The market is checked in relation to Another Native. Charlie Mann's charge had demonstrated a degree of promise a couple of seasons ago and if he is fit enough on a return from a long absence, he is entitled to be a player. Tycoon Hall was a fair hurdler but fencing has proved beyond him. Master Overseer is tried over chase fences having cut little ice in novice hurdles. A race that should have attracted a better entry for the prize money and Sou'Wester is put forward as a tentative pick.
