In depth

Verdict

A modest race to close off the card and Sawpit Sunset is the selection with Les Baux Belle and Rudivale seen as the dangers. John Spearing has always held Sawpit Sunset in a degree of regard and while 0 from 12 is not a statistic that would have one rushing to play; she does at least try to win despite a lack of ability. Les Baux Belle has to be respected off a feather weight and with Warren Marston aboard. She wasn't far behind Amaretto Rose in bumpers and the assessor has her in at basement figures this afternoon. Rudivale is a long standing maiden. He stays this trip with few reservations. Hermano Cordobes makes a debut for Victor Dartnall. Spitfire Bob returns to a more realistic level after mixing it with progressive chasing types. Midnight Ocean put up her best performance to date when finishing a distant second at Stratford. Dance Hall Diva was entitled to need the run last time out and it is to be hoped that she has come on plenty for it. Conservation is watched in the market despite poor form over hurdles. Not a race to be lumping the housekeeping on and Sawpit Sunset can make full use of the opportunity that has been presented to her today.
