In depth
Verdict
SPIRITOFTHENORTH couldn’t prevent Tomfre from completing a double when third at Pontefract on his debut but the runner-up has subsequently won. Kevin Ryan’s colt should go close on that form if handling the testing ground. Sir Boris placed on fast going at Chepstow a fortnight ago and can also figure while Jump The Gun returns to 6f after returning a disappointing favourite over the minimum trip at Newcastle. Plymouth Rock faced a tougher task at York on his introduction while Bryn Du is a newcomer to note for a powerful yard and is preferred to Live In The Moment.
